Veteran rider Eduardo Nunez showed why he's won more races at Calder than any other jockey when angling Unbridled Future in just enough to intimidate but not foul runnerup General Guti in deep stretch of the fifth race. The latter wound up checking briefly under jockey Carlos Olivero, elimination any chance he had of catching the game winner who dueled throughout to finally earn his diploma after one dozen previous tries. The runnerup also encountered trouble earlier in the race when steadied along for most of the second turn while trapped along the rail. Morning line favorite Arch Thirteen also took the worst of the trips when fanned about six wide entering the stretch while mounting a mild bid.
No apparant bias on the main track this afternoon.
