Not to be redundant, but this may be the most speed biased track of the meet. Each winner of the first seven races was one the front at the half mile pole with that streak finally broken by John Johny Jak in the eighth who dueled throughout with runner-up Candyman E and was a head off the lead most of the way before edging clear at the end. Dixie Slam was taken up sharply behind the leaders in the run down the backstretch to lose all chance.
