Defending champion Manoel Cruz has finished his day winning four of the first eight races on the card. Two of those mounts were pick ups, first time 2-year-old starter Devilish Lady in the fourth and Danny's Friend in the recently completed eighth event. He has now leapfrogged apprentice Luis Saez to re-claim the lead in the jockey standings.
Some horses with nightmarish trips worth watching including nervous Marvin from the fifth race and Old Town in the seventh. The latter finished second after getting roughed badly and dropping far back after the start.
The main track continues to play towards speed and stalkers while the afternoon's three turf races were one from either stalking position or off the pace.
