Jockey Brian Theriot got his first local victory and first anywhere in 2010 when guiding Sailor's Song to an impressive victory in the fourth race. The addition of blinkers didn't put any early speed into the winner but certainly had him focused enough to finish full of run and easily wear down the favored Took It From Him who could not match strides with Sailor's Song while failing to change leads through the stretch. A rough trip for Smart Kiddo, who opened at 1-5 but lost all chance when steadied very sharply along the rail midway down the backstretch. He rallied mildly along the head once recovering while also failing to change leads until near the eighth pole. The pace in this one was lightning fast and contributed to the demise of Scorion.
