The early money spoke volumes in the ninth with the well backed Cool Vixen surviving a tough trip to win at first asking over another firster, Blings Rising Star. Cool Vixen, who opened at 3-5, closed at 2-1 and got up in time despite losing considerable ground into the stretch. Blings Rising Star took some late moneyh, closing at 3-1 and had little excuse after clearing off to the lead after the opening furlong of the five furlong dash. The exacta coupling the two debuting fillies paid $24.20.
