After making news earlier in the day by losing three of his 10 pound apprentice allowance, jockey John Delgado returned to post the shocker of the afternoon when guiding the 60-1 Left You Behind to a game maiden win in the sixth race. The winner reasserting himself after relinquishing his early lead to outfinish Closing Man and Black Tie Spirit before galloping out away from the field past the wire. Mort's Legacy, the 8-5 favorite, took up sharply in the run to the first turn but raced in nice striking position along the inside once recovering but came up empty after six furlongs in a dull effort.
Aroma De Mujer got the chalkplayers back on their feet in the seven race when cruising to an impressive, wire to wire win over mid-level conditioned claimers. It was the first victory for the once promising filly since early in her 2-year-old campaign.
