That describes the performaces of first time starter Ari who reasserted himself after losing the lead to well backed El Wildcat at midstretch and forged to a game narrow decision when launching his career under a $25,000 claiming tag in the seventh race. His victory followed on the footsteps of another debut maiden winner for trainer Bill Kaplan whose Greatest Dream also slipped through on the fence to win the sixth race under a nifty ride by Juan Leyva. Despite being the workmate of last week's MSW winner Pretty Extravagant as noted in an earlier blog, Greatest Dream returned a generous $15.60 in a race which featured a nice closing surge by Hard Rock Candy and an eventful trip for well backed firster Sylvia's Tempo.
