Both jockey Luis Saez and trainer Steve Dwoskin are having big days, each with a hat trick already in the books after only eight races.
Saez, who continues to dominate the standings despite losing his bug last weekend, combined with Dwoskin to take the fourth and fifth races on the card with Doctor Lenny and Southern Glitter after having already won the second for trainer David Brownlee aboard Fabulous Frontier. Dwoskin completed his three bagger in the featured eighth event when Mean Sax rallied from off the pace to defeat a familiar group of allowance runners on the grass including Fearless Eagle and Grand Cash.
First time starter Lady Lak has opened as the tepid 3-1 choice in the 9th, a mid-level maiden claimer for 2-year-old fillies. Trainer Bisnath Parboo is two for four with first time starters this year. Worked a bullet three eighths in just under :37 by my watch back on May 22 but has some gaps in his work regime' since that drill. Pontine could be a bit of a sleeper among the other new faces in this lineup off his last work which was a decent three eighths with a slower half mile gallop out.
