For the second time in a week a horse who sped clear of the field shortly after the break took considerable money in the win pool in the final flash of the tote. This time it was Pink Gloss who was 2-1 when the field for today's third race loaded and 7-5 when she cruised past the half mile pole on the lead. Pink Gloss ultimately won the six furlong starter allowance dash, handing the 3-5 Dubai's Connection her first loss of the meet in five tries.
Earlier on the card, the ridiculously overbet Wicklow Royale earned the beaten favorite hat trick when losing for the third time in as many career starts as the public's choice. This time the young colt was walloped to 1-5 but was off the board in a roughly run opener eventually won by the 21-1 first time starter My Mass Media who couldn't break 1:05 for a five furlong gate work a couple of weeks earlier. Bet back any of these especially Wicklow Royale at one's own risk.
