Jockey Jose Alvarez became the third rider to win his first career race since the meet began when rallying Street Appeal from last to overtake the unlucky True Will and capture the seventh race. Alvarez won despite losing his left iron shortly after the start. True Will was best, having to make a big run just to recover from a very slow start. Got clear near midstretch but could not fend off the winner while making his first start since last July. The biggest question was what took the stewards so long to disqualifiy Lawyer Jen from third and place him last after he clearly bore out and impeded the favorite Motion Miss while both were tiring at the top of the stretch.
