Sly (7th, $5.00) won three in a row in May-June-July of 2008, but had been blanked in a dozen subsequent starts. He received a perfect inside-out trip beneath Ramon Dominguez to wear down Prince Woodman and Straight Romance on the outside, and the 6-year-old gelding is now 3-5-1 from nine starts on turf at Belmont.
With two wins today, Dominguez has opened a seven-win lead in the standings.
