Shrewd One (6th, $3.50) stalked the pace from close range, took over turning for home and coasted home under Edgar Prado to win a first-level statebred allowance mile by a pole in 1:35.98 seconds.
Shrewd One, a 3-year-old colt by 2004 Kentucky Derby/Preakness winner Smarty Jones, has now won twice from three starts for trainer Pat Kelly, who mentioned the seven-furlong Mike Lee (June 20) as a possible next start.
