Everyone connected with New York racing acknowledges there aren't as many Thoroughbreds nowadays, and the ones that are around need more time between starts.
Yet, as we begin a 12-day stretch that includes 11 racing days, the overnight is out for Saturday and there will be 11 races - six of them for New York-breds.
The only non-claiming/non-maiden race for open company is the Suburban Handicap, which has been shortened up to 1 1/8 miles, after being run at 1 1/4 miles for 122 of its first 124 runnings.
The Suburban, in which I Want Revenge and Regal Ransom make their first starts of the year, will be the ninth race.
Post time for race 11 is slated for 6:20 p.m.
