Headed by last year's winner, Seattle Smooth, a field of five fillies and mares entered Saturday's Grade 2, $150,000 Shuvee Handicap.
Seattle Smooth has won five in a row, but the 5-year-old mare has not run since taking the Ogden Phipps here last June 13 for Tony Dutrow. She drew the rail with Jeremy Rose, and will shoulder top weight of 122 pounds.
The rest of the field, in post order with weights and riders: Don't Forget Gil (115, Rajiv Maragh), Milwaukee Appeal (116, Patrick Husbands), Funny Moon (117, Alan Garcia), and Solo Piano (114, Jose Lezcano).
The one-mile Shuvee will be race 4 on a 10-race program, so it will not be part of the pick-6 or the $300k guaranteed late pick-4.
