Was interested to see how sharp two-time AP meet winner Mam Bird would fare in second-level allowance, race 6, but his Catalano-trained entry-mate, Super Robusto, got the call instead, with Mam Bird awaiting another spot. And after watching Super Robusto just annhilate a decent field, I'm now not sure Mam Bird wants any part of Super Robusto. First-time synthetic, first-time Catalano, Super Robusto made the lead after breaking second or third, went clear before the far turn, and while benefitting from setting a slow-ish pace, he really finished with great energy. Looked stakes-class on Poly in this performance.
