Wire to wire winner in race 1, with Hurta leading all the way for trainer Jim Gulick, jock Jozbin Santana (a personal, under-the-radar favorite of mine this meet). But race 2 had no pace, and MSW dropper Arts Club rallied from well back to capture this $10K maiden claimer. Fair-playing -- and fairly slow-playing -- Polytrack.
Briefly had firster Secessionist picked on top in race 3 before dropping him to third. Ugh. Finished nicely at 15-1 for trainer Donnie Von Hemel, whose barn is coming back to life after a slow start here.
Turf rated "good," with rail in lane 4.
