I'm tellin you - it's a slog out there on the grass course. My Sonny Boy moved wide just before the quarter pole and seized the lead, but inside him, Princeville Condo battled back. Head bob to Sonny - and it looked like they were running through deep sand the last furlong. Really tiring course, it seems. Plus, there's a brisk stretch headwind, too. Didn't really like Free Fighter in this spot anyway, but he got stuck behind tiring speed and shuffled back to last past the three-eighths pole: No chance from there.
Speed did hold in the Isaac Murphy, race 7, a 6s Polytrack sprint, but 14-1 Kip Berries, who set a good pace, was edged late by wide stalker Secret Kin. Final time in 1:11.32 pretty moderate. Looked like these horses were running in deep sand, too.
Souper Miss taking surprising action in upcoming race 8, first leg of the Pick 4. Cumulonimble favored as expected.
