So, not only did Saturday's card get only 67 entries when finally drawn this morning, a day later than planned, but the use of another Illinois N1X turf allowance race that day gutted an appealing feature race at the same class level today. The 8th on this card WAS a good race before getting totally decimated by scratches. In all, there were 15 scratches on this nine-race program, which is way too many, and reminiscent of the way things were going early in the meet. Just when AP seemed to have some momentum entry-wise, quality-wise, betting-wise, we're hit with an ugly couple days that could kill that momentum.
