Lets quickly wrap up Friday, since I was unable to post anything.
Humid and hot as heck, but no rail.
Turf firm, and speed holding. All grass races won by horses on the early lead or pressing the pace, and closers had no luck at all. Not all those winners were favorites, either, and I think its fair to say that the grass had at least a mild speed component to it.
Not so on Poly, with winners coming from all over the place. The main track played slow once again, both in terms of fractional and final times.
