Whoa. What just happened? We went from 0 - 60 in about 1 second as far as the Poly-speed. Shockingly slow fractions and final times Thursday, with only moderately faster clockings early on this card. But the race 4 pace that just unfolded seems impossible: 22.09, 44.72?! No wonder Heart Thief, more than 10 lengths back at the three-furlong pole, wore down heavily favored Grazioso, who did stay on best of the three-pack setting those nutty splits. Final time for the 6.5fs was 1:17.57.
