Zio Tony (6th, $7.80), a second-out 3-year-old trained by Mike Hushion, stalked a three-way pace battle to the three-eighths pole, rallied three wide and wore down favored Avenging Spirit in the stretch despite wandering in and out greenly beneath Gabriel Saez.
Zio Tony, a Tiznow colt, ran seven furlongs in a sharp 1:23.27 while pulling away in the final stages, and brought Hushion's meet record to 5-2-0 from eight starters.
