With Ramon Dominguez beginning a suspension today, jockey Edgar Prado has stepped into the role of dominant jockey.
Prado won five races on the card including the last three. The last time a jockey won five was Ramon Dominguez, who won the first five on Feb. 17.
Prado won the third aboard Rule by Night ($6.40), the fifth on Vinnies Wild Tale ($6.50), the seventh on Eighttofasttocatch ($29.60), the eighth on Four Shore ($7.10) and the ninth aboard Budget ($14)
Prado has been on quite a roll lately winning with 13 of his last 31 mounts starting April 11. He has had multiple winners on four of the eight cards that period encompasses.
It's probably just a coincidence, but Prado is 11 for 28 since being called out by trainer Tony Dutrow for his ride aboard She'll Be Doggone in the Comely on April 10. (I'm not counting his 2 for 3 day on April 11 because Dutrow's comments did not hit the internet until April 12).
