The New York City Off-Track Betting Corp just held a board meeting at which it was announced the corporation would remain open and not shut down as threatened at the close of business tomorrow.
Shocking, isn't it?
Apparently, the OTB board was encouraged by talks that ultimately broke down last week. The Legislature, whenever it returns from yet another vacation, will likely come up with some band-aid for both OTB and NYRA and then let those politicians who are voted in in November deal with it.
In other words, no change.
