Jockey Ramon Dominguez was slapped with a seven-day suspension for careless riding allowing Mochachino to interfere with a couple of horses during the running of Wednesday's ninth race. Mochachino was disqualified from first and placed third.
For waiving his right of appeal, the suspension was reduced to three days. Dominguez will serve the days next Thursday, Friday and Sunday. He will take advantage of the ``designated race'' rule to ride Eightyfiveinafifty in next Saturday's Grade 3, $200,000 Derby Trial at Churchill Downs. The designated race rule allows a suspended jockey to ride in a designated race in exchange for taking another day off.
